Matsuyama is located in Ehime Prefecture, Shikoku area. The city has long history and many episodes.
Matsuyama has many relations to great writers. For example, the famous haiku poet MASAOKA Shiki was born in Matsuyama. His friend, NATSUME Soseki had lived with MASAOKA Shiki in Matsuyama, and he wrote one of his masterpieces, “Bochan”. set in Matsuyama. SHIBA Ryotaro wrote the novel “Saka no ue no Kumo”(The cloud at top of the slope) adapted from them.
Matsuyama is also known to Dogo Onsen, which is one of top 3 hot springs of beautiful skin. If you soak in the Dogo Onsen, you can get a smooth skin.
In addition, there is many attractions such as Matsuyama castle, tasty fish and sake, and beautiful SETO-NAIKAI sea. The classic architectures, the hot spring, haiku and novel and tasty foods, you will enjoy all of Japanese attractions in Matsuyama.
In Matsuyama city, the “1-Day ticket(400 Yen)” or “Matsuyama joka meguri kip(松山城下めぐりきっぷ; 2.200 Yen)” are convenience. You can use buses and trams in Matsuyama city as many times as you’d like during the day. “Matsuyama joka meguri kip” comes with 6 museums tickets.
