Giant rubber duck ride in Osaka!

A giant rubber duck surprises Osaka people. It has appeared in Aug.22 on Doshima river suddenly.

It is a part of the event “Aqua Metropolis Osaka 2009″. This event aims at informing the maintenance activity for riversides.
The duck is 9m50cm height, 11m long.

Osaka city has 4 rivers in the center, the rivers have been familiar to Osaka people for a long time.

This rubber duck is made by Florentijn Hofman, a young Dutch artist. The nearest station is Tenmabashi-station, Keihan railway. The exhibition site is Hakken-Hama, there is a dock of tour boats. You can see the duck from the boat.
