Visual Deception Exhibition : “Tromp-l’oeil” from all over the world.
“Tromp-l’oeil” have been loved all over the world for a long time. This exhibition features many different styles of trick art.
About 140 works ranging from traditional illusionism from the 16th century to contemporary works are on display.
Not only Western works, but also Japanese works including those by UTAGAWA Hiroshige and other great artists will be on show.

SUZUKI Shuitsu "Shu-so-zu (the picture of autumn plants)"
My recommended works are scroll pictures painted by SUZUKI Shuitsu and the photos taken by HONJO Naoki. SUZUKI Shuitsu is a Japanese-style painter from the 19th century. He painted various things, including the decoration of the hanging scrolls, in great detail. His works are elegant and beautiful.
HONJO Naoki is an active photographer. He takes real scenery and makes it into miniature models with special techniques. You will be surprised as the “miniatures” are so exquisite. His photos are upbeat and cute, which makes me realise that the world is so small.
