A little dog taking a sake flower bath. :Choemongama “Dog cup Hanatsume”

There is a little dog in the gorgeous sake cup. When you pour sake in the cup, the dog looks to be taking a bath. Choemongama realizes the funny idea with an excellent painting skill.

The gorgeous pattern of the cup is called “Hana-tsume(Tightly-arranged flowers)”. Hanatsume has a long history over 100 years, there are few hanatsume painters in recent days.

The hanatsume was in the news for the skull jar in 2008. Maruwakaya and Choemongama produced the hanatsume skull jar. The jar received a high evaluation for the
breathtakingly elaborate design. It is housed in 21st century museum of contemporary art in Kanazawa.

The hanatsume around the skull jar and the sake cup is painted by SUZUKI Tomoko. She is a young painter born in 1984. The dog sake cup is the most inexpensive one among all available hanatsume products by SUZUKI Tomoko. Each hand painted hanatsume and the cute dog sitting in the cup never get tired.
