Otori Paper “OK foolscap” : The high class paper which is suitable for a fountain pen.

“Foolscap” means a size of paper in recent days, it was the name of British high quality paper in the 19th century. The paper has a watermark of a clown with a cap, so it was called “Foolscap”. The paper appears in novels of the, “Sherlock Holmes” series.
The paper was imported into Japan in the Meiji era, 19th century. It was very expensive, but popular with intellectuals in Japan. Even now, Japanese stationery fans still like this paper.

“OK foolscap” is produced by Otori Paper Co.,Ltd taking British foolscap as its model. The paper has a smooth writing feeling and an ink absorption, suitable for a fountain pen.

OK foolscap has two colors, “ivory” and “white”. It is a little transparent, modestly. In spite of its thinness, inks never runs to other side of the paper. That is the advantage of OK foolscap over RHODIA memo pad.
